display/monitor 1024×768 display size

the display/monitor uses the generic driver for display and it is 1024×768 or 800x600 but it looks very odd it should be bigger because my screen is bigger. I have a acer monitor but is there something I can download to fix the display size?

first, have you installed the drivers for your video card?
if you have then you should be able to change the resolution to the native for your screen. If it will not let you report back and we can explain how to force it to the proper resolution. Also please follow the link in my signature and fill out your system specs.

Installing a driver for your monitor will also help with 7 recognize it's native resolution.Instead of as VGA PnP
