    HP Laserjet driver

I have an HP Laserjet 1020 that I can't get to work with my OS (Windows 7 Beta 32-bit). I found the driver on the HP site, but it will not function with this Beta system, and Windows will not recognize the printer as a printer; it just comes up as a device. How do I solve this problem?

I already looked through the updates catalogue and found nothing that looked right. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I lost the CD that came with the printer a long time ago. Do you think that I could download the XP version of the driver?

ye it might, will not kill your PC to try will it ?

(try to get the Image of the CD) - my came along with imaging Studios that even if the PC gets messed up and will not see the printer the imaging studios might

and try Comatability with 98, if the printer is old it might have a hit, worked with
Toshiba tf - 601 on vista

Alright, I'm having trouble locating a driver that is specifically designed for XP. And in addition, I need someone to explain to me how to run these things in "compatability mode," because I'm totally lost.

    Hi Dustin,

Right click the program file , select Properties.

Under the Compatibility tab, tick Run this program in Compatibility mode for..., select from drop - down box, Apply and OK.
