    Theater 550 Pro TV tuner

My Theater 550 Pro TV Tuner worked fine in Vista, I just reinstalled the hardware. 7 Found it, installed it's drivers, and said it was working fine. But the Media Center does not see the card at all, either do other Media programs (Sage, BeyondTV, Media Portal, etc...). Now, when I boot, I get a quick error about Windows Media Center Receiver Service stopped working! I think that it may have something to do with ehrecvr.exe, but I don't know what, nor how to fix it. Any ideas, anyone??

    Thanks

Hi bfree380 and welcome to the forum!

The simplest approach would be to download the latest drivers for your device directly from ATI, here

That should easily sort it out for you

Unfortunately, I did that, installed it, and it still won't work. My Device Manager sees the ATI Unified AVStream Driver, under Sound, video and game controllers, but that's it :/

Hmmm... Did you ever tried running the ATI driver installer in Vista compatibility mode?

Yep, under compatibility, i have it set for Windows Vista. I also ran it as Admin as well. When I first ran it, I chose custom install, but as soon as it started scanning for hardware, it locked my computer up. After re-boot, I used the express setting, and it went through okay. Still not working though.

You said you encountered an error regarding your Windows Media Center Receiver stopped working, when you check now, is it running?
You can access services by clicking on Win+R and type services.msc
If not try to start the service then try again.

It was not started, but I was able to manually start it. I was also able to start all of the other media center services manually as well, but it still failed to recognize it in the Media Center.
