What I recommend before you install too much software is to make a system backup.
It takes about 3 dvds on windows 7 to do a nice system backup. I tried it and it works great even you change the partition structure it repartitions everything back to the original layout.
There is a french website which can generate a profile of your computer (2 pages worth after installing the manual download)
Detect my configuration - - Ma-Config.com
a nifty website if I must say.
Windows 7 does have some nice features.
Medion put 4 primary partitions (2 hidden) which is the maximum and makes it
tricky to multiboot with XP
Also don't count on the Medion recovery disk if you have a major problem.
That's why I recommend you use Windows 7 to make a SYSTEM BACKUP.
I also feel that it is useful to have atleast two logon identities for your Windows 7 computer both with full administrator access incase one gets corrupted then you won't be able to get back in.
I have been trying to get XP
drivers to run the 8850 medion.
The only 2 drivers I have trouble getting hold of are the
1) multimedia
driver
(philips semiconductor TV tuner I think) and the
2) vga driver (eturbotouch technology inc touchscreen 21.5 inch)
any help for XP drivers would be greatly appreciated
Give this a try

Once you have downloaded the appropriate driver install it.
In XP I go into system device manager and select the device "multimedia controller" then install the driver , select multimedia controller device and right click and update driver.
If it installs correctly like it did on my medion 8850 then the creatix device will say something like SAA7231 Hybrid Capture Device installed. Voir-la
In helping you I was fortunate to look at my second medion 8850 and found the creatix website so problem 1 of mine is now solved ... Thanks ! hELPING OTHERS DOES HELP YOU !
