Dell Studio 1535 Drivers!

Hello everyone!

Could you please help me with the following:
Ive got a Dell Studio 1535 running Windows Vista.
I want to upgrade to Windows 7, used the Upgrade Advisor, no problem.
The only thing I need before I want to install Win 7 are the drivers.
HOWEVER Dell hasnt got any drivers suitable for my PC!
When I go to the download page, it only gives 2 options:
-> Windows Vista 32 bit
-> Windows Vista 64 bit
What am I to do?
I really want to upgrade, but if the drivers are missing, my PC wont work!
Do the vista drivers work for 7 as well???
Please help me!

In most cases, Vista drivers will work for Windows 7 as well. However, you might like to try a clean installation - the DVD contains many more drivers than the one for Vista, and you might not actually need any others.

Depending on which version of Windows 7 you want to install. If you decide to go w/64 bit you will need to do a complete install under the custom option due to the fact that you are upgrading from native 32 bit. As far as drivers go, we have been testing OS 7 for months and years and the driver issue has been resolved by most OEm's including Dell. Plus we will be here 4U if you need us.

I think you'll be fine.
Are you installing Windows 7 64bit?
I would suggest it as you have 4GB RAM.

When I install Windows 7 64bit from Vista 32bit on my Dell Inspiron 530, there were no driver issues, all were loaded during the install.
Also, on my Dell Studio 1737, from Vista 64bit. Same on my Acer desktop (3 years old) from Vista 32bit and my sons Toshiba laptop from Vista 32bit.
No issues with any of them.

If there are any problems the Vista drivers will work just fine.

Pfew, thats good news
I were almost thinking I couldnt upgrade because there were no drivers available!
And yes, I want to upgrade from 32 bit to 64 So i need a clean installation.
Its still strange that my Studio 1535 isnt on the list of Windows 7 capable PC's.
Whereas the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor finds no problems
Thanks a lot!

My inspiron 530 isn't listed with Dell for Windows 7 either

But the Studio 1737 is but, it came out after I installed Windows 7.

Windows 7 is very good with drivers.

Let us know how the installation goes for you, and if you have any other questions.

According to DELL here is what you need to do:

Verify that device manager recognizes the camera.
Then uninstall the camera.
Allow the device manager to search for new devices, it will recognize the camera and reinstall drivers.
Downloaded a new version of Dell Webcam manager.

The new version can be found here. Drivers and Downloads
Hope this helps.
