Dell Studio 1535 Drivers! Hello everyone!
Could you please help me with the following:
Ive got a Dell Studio 1535 running Windows Vista.
I want to upgrade to Windows 7, used the Upgrade Advisor, no problem.
The only thing I need before I want to install Win 7 are the drivers.
HOWEVER Dell hasnt got any drivers suitable for my PC!
When I go to the download page, it only gives 2 options:
-> Windows Vista 32 bit
-> Windows Vista 64 bit
What am I to do?
I really want to upgrade, but if the drivers are missing, my PC wont work!
Do the vista drivers work for 7 as well???
Please help me! | My System Specs |

In most cases, Vista drivers will work for Windows 7 as well. However, you might like to try a clean installation - the DVD contains many more drivers than the one for Vista, and you might not actually need any others. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Dwarf Dwf/11/2012 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Service Pack 1 CPU Intel Core-i5-3570K 4-core @ 3.4GHz (Ivy Bridge) (OC 4.2GHz) Motherboard ASRock Z77 Extreme4-M Memory 4 x 4GB DDR3-1600 Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B (16GB) Graphics Card 2 x AMD Radeon HD7770 1GB CrossFired (OC 1100MHz/1250MHz) Sound Card Realtek High Definition on board solution (ALC 898) Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VA1912w Widescreen (VGA) Screen Resolution 1440x900 Keyboard Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 3000 (USB) Mouse Microsoft Comfort Mouse 3000 for Business (USB) PSU XFX Pro Series 850W Semi-Modular Case Gigabyte IF233 Cooling 1 x 120mm Front Inlet 1 x 120mm Rear Exhaust Hard Drives OCZ Agility 3 SSD 120GB SATA III x2 (RAID 0)

Depending on which version of Windows 7 you want to install. If you decide to go w/64 bit you will need to do a complete install under the custom option due to the fact that you are upgrading from native 32 bit. As far as drivers go, we have been testing OS 7 for months and years and the driver issue has been resolved by most OEm's including Dell. Plus we will be here 4U if you need us. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Build OS Windows 7 7600 1 X64 CPU AMD PHENOM II X 550 PROCESSOR 3.1 ghz Motherboard ASUS M4A78-TE Memory Corsair 4 gig ddr 3 Graphics Card ati radeon 3300 Sound Card ati hd Monitor(s) Displays syncmaster 2033sw Screen Resolution 1600X900 60 hz refresh PSU antec_550 watt Case cooler master GLite Cooling stock_heat sink Hard Drives twin_seagates SATA's 1 TB & 500 Gig, hitachi_slimline 160 gig Internet Speed 20mbs up/ 1.5mbs down Other Info favorite child "stewie"

I think you'll be fine.
Are you installing Windows 7 64bit?
I would suggest it as you have 4GB RAM.
When I install Windows 7 64bit from Vista 32bit on my Dell Inspiron 530, there were no driver issues, all were loaded during the install.
Also, on my Dell Studio 1737, from Vista 64bit. Same on my Acer desktop (3 years old) from Vista 32bit and my sons Toshiba laptop from Vista 32bit.
No issues with any of them.
If there are any problems the Vista drivers will work just fine. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number 76~2.0 OS Windows 7 Ult x64 - SP1/ Windows 8 Pro x64 CPU Intel Core i5-3570K 4.6GHz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z77X UD3H, f18 Memory 8GB (2X4GB) DDR3 1600 Corsair Vengeance CL8 1.5v Graphics Card Sapphire HD 7770 Vapor-X OC 1GB DDR5 Sound Card Onboard VIA VT2021 Monitor(s) Displays 22" LCD Dell Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Logitech Wave Mouse CM Sentinel PSU Corsair HX650W Case Cooler Master Storm Scout Cooling Corsair H80 2x12cm Noctua NF P12 , 2x14cm case fans Hard Drives Samsung 840Pro 128GB SSD,

I were almost thinking I couldnt upgrade because there were no drivers available!
And yes, I want to upgrade from 32 bit to 64 So i need a clean installation.
Its still strange that my Studio 1535 isnt on the list of Windows 7 capable PC's.
Whereas the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor finds no problems

My inspiron 530 isn't listed with Dell for Windows 7 either
But the Studio 1737 is but, it came out after I installed Windows 7.
Windows 7 is very good with drivers.
Let us know how the installation goes for you, and if you have any other questions. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number 76~2.0 OS Windows 7 Ult x64 - SP1/ Windows 8 Pro x64 CPU Intel Core i5-3570K 4.6GHz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z77X UD3H, f18 Memory 8GB (2X4GB) DDR3 1600 Corsair Vengeance CL8 1.5v Graphics Card Sapphire HD 7770 Vapor-X OC 1GB DDR5 Sound Card Onboard VIA VT2021 Monitor(s) Displays 22" LCD Dell Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Logitech Wave Mouse CM Sentinel PSU Corsair HX650W Case Cooler Master Storm Scout Cooling Corsair H80 2x12cm Noctua NF P12 , 2x14cm case fans Hard Drives Samsung 840Pro 128GB SSD,

btw, Windows 7 32 Bit.. According to DELL here is what you need to do:
Verify that device manager recognizes the camera.
Then uninstall the camera.
Allow the device manager to search for new devices, it will recognize the camera and reinstall drivers.
Downloaded a new version of Dell Webcam manager.
The new version can be found here. Drivers and Downloads
Hope this helps. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number DELL XPS Studio 435T OS Vista 64 Ultimate, Windows 7 64 Ultimate, Ubuntu 9.10 CPU i7 975 3.3 GHz Extreme (Factory OC'd to 3.6 GHz) Motherboard DELL provided Memory 18 Gb Tri-Channel 1066 Graphics Card ATI 5970 2048 Mb Sound Card X-Fi Extreme Gamer Monitor(s) Displays Vizio 37" HD-TV Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard Logitech Performance K350 Wireless Mouse Logitech Performance MX Wireless PSU DELL Provided 475 watts Case DELL Cooling 3 fans Hard Drives 1.5 Tb HDD
