Use XP driver on Windows 7

Same problem - Canon only has the Windows 7 add-on for the Vista driver, assuming you upgraded from Vista. Canon says to go to Windows Update. Windows Update finds nothing and sends me to Canon.

I downloaded and installed the driver for Windows XP and finally got the printer installed, so I'm no longer going around in circles. For some reason, the "copy 1" of the printer works while the original does not.

Greetings. It is now 21Jan16, and I have no driver for my ip3000 in Win 7x64. After following the instructions of CoCoSD written on 11Dec09, all is well! It worked so well that I didn't even realize it had installed it! This SSD is a larger 500gig drive I put in after the previous 250GB SSD, and had not disconnected it before installing the new SSD--so it needed to be done to auto find/install the driver. There is not one I could find any other way, and I had not remembered even HOW I got one for my smaller drive. Invoking Win Update did not find the printer either, but CoCo SD's instructions worked perfectly! Thanks.

The only issue I see is that the full pgm is not there--such as any additional pgms like photo book, etc, which came with the original 32bit driver. I am just glad the printer works now.
