USB device not recognized - Help!

I'm recieving the following error "USB device not recognized". I have attempted many fix recommendations I have seen posted aroun the internet with no luck. My usb ports were working fine previously with xp and vista installed on my system. I installed windows 7 and they were working fine until the very first update for windows 7 was installed. Since the update I have been unable to use any usb products(printer, iphone, etc...) other than my mouse and keyboard. I have attempted to uninstall the update. I have also attempted to install windows xp, vista, and windows 7 and have had no luck with any version.

I don't know what information I could provide that would assist anyone in helping me. If I need more info posted, please let me know. I would greatly appreciate any help provided.

Motherboard - EVGA Nforce 650i Ultra
All drivers are up to date

If you say it was working when you first installed you could try a repair install which will install windows again but you don't have to install all your programs again, check out the tutorial.

    Repair Install

If you need to install a previous version of Windows you make a new partition to install on Partition or Volume - Create New

Here is another tutorial for a fresh install https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...ws-7-beta.html

I had a similar issue with RC1. After the 1st set of updates, all of my thumb drives were no longer recognized although my external USB drive was still working fine.

I unistalled all of the "test Windows 7 updates) in the KB97042n series and then rebooted and allofasudden my thumb drives were recognized again.

One curiousity about uninstalling the updates is that the very first test update (KB970419) cannot be installed. OH WELL!

    Device Driver can't be installed

I have Windows7 RC1 (32) installed. From the beginning my Hama USB Hub Card Reader worked fine. Suddenly it is not recognized and installation from its FirmwareCD cannot be made. Of course-its Bluetooth, IRD USUB and Card slots don not work either. System says: Device Driver Could not be installed.
I uninstalled it, uninstalled and re-installed any USB device. No change. What shall I do?

It was an 100% clear installation. But maybe the driver itself is damaged. I need to test it with another PC. Anyway, the installation of the software for this device also does not finsish. It stops at about 90% with a message that the instalation could not be finished because the device was not recognized.

This is driving me mad... I have the same issue.
Clean installation of W7 RC1 x86, was fine for a few days, now just over and over and over again, i get this "USB Device not Recognized"...

I have 6 usb ports, only 2 are used, and it recognizes my Keyboard and Mouse by name, and they function properly.

In my device manager I show 7 Universal Serial Bus Controllers
Standard Enchanced PCI to USB Host Controller
    Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller
    3 Unknown Devices
    USB Composite Device
    2 USB Root Hubs

I don't care if the unknown devices ever work, to tell the truth...
How do i get rid of the alerts popping up all the time?
