Windows 7: Prolific USB-to-Serial Driver

Has anyone found a version of this driver to work on Windows 7?

I have that installed for using my mobile phone usb to serial cable... Windows installed it automatically.

I found it with a web search. If I remember right, it was on the Prolific web site. Of course, it was not for Windows 7, but if memory serves, I set it for XP or Vista and it installed OK.

Yes I found the latest versiin on the Prolific web site but it does not install.

Did you set the installer for XP or Vista compatibility? I'm pretty sure I had to do that. I also set for Run As Administrator.

Yes Vista Compatibility and set to run as Admin. The installer runs then about 15 seconds after it appears to be finished I get this error:
Can't copy INF file.
Failed to Install

It was on my vista system that I downloaded to Windows 7 and seems to be working OK

This is the driver that is not working for me.

When you try to install it manually and tell windows to search online for driver, it doesn't find it? For me it installed that way. Anyway, I zipped the driver ,you didn't say for what you are using it, so I don't know if it will work for you, but ,you can try to install manually it from this folder, just unzip

When I installed it on my Vista machine I had to runh it as Administrator and turn OFF security in the properties menu.
