    Annoying Freezing

Hi guys, love this forum and my new laptop except....

once in a while, had it happen 3 times in 2 weeks, everything just freezes including the mouse icon, i wait five minutes and no avail. can't even get to the task manager and end up performing a hard reset.

has this happened to anyone with windows 7? Or would this have something to do w/ the laptop?

I feel pretty confident when it comes to viruses as i have bitdefender, super antispyware, scanned using anti-malware, spybot.

Did this start after installing a particular application?

I'm assuming the laptop came with Win 7 preinstalled... If so, that doesn't mean someone here can't help you, but it would be wise to contact the manufacturer customer support as they may have already figured out how to resolve the issue if it exist with other ppl that have also purchased that product.

no it was an upgrade, is it normal to have it freeze once in a while? would it be the laptop, harddrive, software or windows 7?

This is just one more reason to add to the "never upgrade" list.. Freezing is almost always a heat issue of one type or another ... what were you doing when the freezes occurred?

This happens with me sometimes. I wait for a while before I do a hard reset.Sometimes my laptop unfreezes...Just wish I hadn't thrown away that key so I could do a clean install..
