Vista x64 natively supported a bunch of canon printers with x64
drivers. For some printers this support has gone under Windows 7 x64. Perhaps this will help some people ... .
I mounted a Vista x64 ISO-image/source, extracted the folder with the canon printer drivers and installed the Colorpass Z40e
driver under Windows 7 x64. In my case I used this driver für a Canon Colorpass Z400e (Canon CLC 1100).
Extraxct :
- use 7zip
- under options check "wim"
- open the install.wim an verify your vista version (important if there is a 64bit and 32 bit version on the same DVD, in my case there was only a 64bit on the systembuilder DVD)
- choose the right folder and extract the canon printer driver folder with 7zip
windows\system32\driverstore\filerepository\prnca001.inf_c505b61f
that is it ... .
