    printers wont install drivers

So I am having a problem, I have tried everything. Uninstall , reinstall, plug in for my two printers. Which are, brother hl2170w and my hp deskjet 3845. They were working perfectly fine before I upgraded to 7 ultimate. Now i connect and it detects then installs attempt to installs the drivers, then it fails. It keeps failing saying that it has installed the driver but still asks me to troubleshoot. Cannot find out what is wrong. These two printers are supported and should have installed properly with no problems. I even tried downloading drivers off of the brother website and installing it like that, but that still doest not work. The hp one is just not installing even though windows tries, it says error. I am so pissed, I have tried all. I need my damn printers working so I can print out my work!
btw. I upgraded my windows, didnt do a clean install from vista home.

Is print spooler service running and set to automatic?

Is it installed under "other devices " in device manager.

If so , rt click it and update drivers - browse to the drivers you downloaded.

I think it would help in getting responces if you would fill in your system specs and choose which printer you want to install on that system. Go to your user cp at top of page click on it then to edit system specs. Also include 32 or 64 bit version. This is also another case of an upgrade and not a clean install. Meaning a lot of programs are left on your system from the upgrade. I think if you go at this 1 at a time you'll get more help. Fabe
