Tried all the
drivers I can find, but although the camera and microphone are recognized, they both return zero results when I try to use them (black camera picture and no audio).
Seems to me that if Sony were more forthcoming with their assistance on this that when I coose to upgrade I'd stick with them as a provider? As it is, I won't be going back to them. I know for a fact they have comparable hardware but refuse to help you step 'outside the box', even when your warranty is already over.
Selling an X64 compatible machine with only vista 32 bit seems ridiculous to me, and if the end user wants to reinstall another OS they should give you as much info as they can and point out that once you do it, they won't support the system anymore - that would suite me!
My first option was to downgrade to XP-32, but since I now have virtually everything running under Windows 7-64 apart from the camera and Microphone, I think they should be able to help somewhat! I'll dig up the actual hardware the 340e has and post it shortly just in case somebody can point at the right drivers, but I think it's the Sony Firmware parser that's stopping it from working correctly....
