Yes, I was using the 32 bit driver before, but there is not 64 bit driver for the Canon 670U.
Thanks, I plan to purchase the Lide 200 today. I don't mind getting rid of the old 670U as it was very slow.

    N670U and ViewScan

I can confirm that CanoScan N670U does work perfectly with ViewScan with Windows 7.

I know this is a Windows forum, but I also have a CanoScan N670U and its also not playing nice with my 64bit OS 7 or any other when in compatibility mode. I also happened to be dual-booting with Fedora 12 64bit (Linux), and what do you know? It works flawlessly in Linux. Go figure!

I have CanoScan N670U and I have tried everything written here, but with no luck. So I was forced to install wmware and install Win XP, so under it all goes well, but I Ask a FAQ, Why We Have To Return To The Stone Age?

You need to direct that question to Cannon, they produce the hardware so it's their responseability to make the drivers.

I got rid of my u670 when I upgraded to Windows 7 last year. My needs are simple, but the 670 was not up to Windows 7 64bit.

I have been told that Canon do not intend to issue a Windows 7 64 bit driver for the Canoscan N67ou scanner.
Is there any way round this or do I have to buy a new scanner?
    Advice gratefully received.

Just get rid of it and get the lide 200 for Win7 64bit. It is cheap enough and much faster. i really wish it had an off switch though. I uplug the usb from the rear, since I don't scan often. (A REAL PAIN TO GET IT PLUGED BACK IN UNDER MY DESK)

Free option to use CanoScan N670U wth Windows 7 64 bit

Free option to use CanoScan N670U wth Windows 7 64 bit

VueScanner cost$ --> I am running Windows 7 64bit and was able to use my CanoScan N670U by Installing Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 at no additional cost

Install and use Windows XP Mode in Windows 7

After install the software loaded and the only trick was to click the "USB" dropdown in the virtual machine menu at the top of the screen and select canoscan
