    Fujitsu Scansnap S510M

I know it's a Mac scanner, but I'm wondering if anyone ever made a Windows driver for the S510M. Any help would be appreciated.

    No luck

@Tews not very helpful. These scanners run around $500 and up. They aren't your little play toy scanners. They for high volume and are typically used as part of a document management workflow. While you couldn't help but laugh, I couldn't help but roll my eyes at your ignorance of scanners and macs and your arrogant, unhelpful response. BTW, a lot of scanners (and printers, and most other hardware) that work for Macs also work for Windows- this is more of an exception rather than the rule.

@azul120 Unfortunately, it doesn't look good. Part for part they are almost the exact same hardware on the inside. Unfortunately Fujitsu has made the decision to lock each model into one OS. I think they did this because each comes with a an OS-specific software pack that includes some pretty high-end software, and having it work on both would mean double licenses for full functionality. Still, they didn't have to make it so damn difficult to get it to work for those of us that have everything we need for each OS, or only need basic functionality. On my multi-boot system I'd LOVE to be able to use the scanner without rebooting or running a virtual machine. I've looked all over and can't find anything. Perhaps someone could decompile the drivers and hack them but that's way beyond my abilities. Your best bet is to buy another model (ugh, I know; wasted desk space, wasted hardware...) on eBay- I've seen used ones go for around $200.

Also, it's possible to use the WINDOWS version of the scanner (without the M at the end of the model # on a mac) by using the Japanese drivers.

The new versions are not locked into an OS: Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 & S1500M Are Now Cross-Platform | DocumentSnap
