HP Pavilion dv6000 graphic card driver

Hi, I have installed Windows Seven on my HP Pavilion laptop. Everything works just fine, except the Aero feature. The taskbar, for example, is dull and grey, instead of being glass-like and transparent. I did a problem sweep with Windows, and it said that I had to install the graphics card driver. I cannot seem to find it, however. What am I supposed to do?

Welcome to Seven forums Glouprie: Well first we need to know if your running 32 bit or 64 bit windows 7, Then go into device manager.click on display adapter>properties>details tab>drop down menu>hardware id and Copy and Paste the harware id string. This will give us the Nvidia card your laptop is using, and we can get a driver form their. Most likely you'll need to modify the .inf file to get it to work. Thanks . Fabe

Ah yes, of course. I have installed Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit version. It is swell to see such swift response. Thank you!

    Hello Glouprie,

To avoid future issues with drivers see more information here: Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly.

    Cheers,

Similar issue here (just made a thread in this forum as well). I have a Pavilion dv6000 dual booting w/Vista (32 bit). The display and resolution are perfect in Vista...when i boot into 7, it says the resolution is the same, yet everything looks much less defined. I've tried running Windows update but it says my driver is up to date. I've also downloaded drivers directly from NVidia's website. Again, no luck.

For some reason seven is requireing a lot of the mobile cards to have thier .inf files modified. You can follow the instructions from here NVIDIA MobilityModder - DriverHeaven.net Just download the latest driver from Nvidia for your card Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers And take your time follow the guide and you should end up with a fully functional driver.
