    Drivers Not Updating

I need to update all my drivers. I have tried to do it the traditional way through the control panel but my drivers claim to not need updating. Is there another fix?

I would prefer not to download driver update software that requires me to pay them for updating my drivers.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Adam and welcome

why do you need to update "all" your drivers? Is something not working?

The best you can do in this regard is to open Windows Update and check for 'optional updates'. Otherwise, reply to the other two users that have posted

My drivers also never say they need updating, but this always just made me assume there was no problem with them. What makes you think they must be updated?

Thanks to everyone for their warm welcome and thoughtful comments.

I downloaded HWiNFO32 and I have put a message on ASUS's forum on how to grab a driver for their P5Q motherboard as I cannot run two monitors through it like I could pre-Windows 7 install.

I am unsure which drivers to grab. Maybe I don't actually need any updated?

I see a lot of red "x's" next to things like Intel Virtualization Technology for I/O Devices and Internal Graphics meaning they are "Not Supported."

I see my BIOS Date is 8/20/08, is that in need of an update? I'm looking at a lot of information, most of which is over my head and unsure how, if at all, to proceed.

    Any advice?

There is nothing wrong with getting the latest drivers for your devices, where they exists i recommend it be done. Whilst w7 comes with updated Windows builtin drivers which are compatible with many devices, i recommend sourcing for manufacturer's drivers and installing them. I would try the vendor's website first for these drivers.

Priority lies with video, sound and network drivers.

Your hwinfo scan can tell you what your devices are and using the into you can pricely look for a driver which can be more suitable. Also search for tutorial on "Driver Selection..." for some info.
