Change of graphic card

Hi.
I know that to change the Graphics Card, we have to remove(uninstall) the previous drivers, replace the Card, and re-install the new drivers.
My (silly) question is:
If I replace a Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX with a GeForce GTX285, using the same drivers, do I need to follow the uninstall/re-install sequence?
Thanks.
Jose

Look at the release notes for the last or latest update you went with. That will usually show the models supported. It wouldn't hurt to remove and then go for the latest for the GTX285 or leave the present ones on since the update site shows both cards use the same anyways. GeForce Release 181

Thanks.
I'm using GeForce Release 181, my drivers are up to date.
I will go for a direct Card replacement.
Thanks a lot.

Good Grief! I think you missed the ball since you dug up this old thread by 4 months already!

Since the OP never added anything further I would assume he was already set back in March.
