Just Upgraded - No Sound

Hi. I just updraded from Windows XP to Window 7. Everyone thing works good except my sound. The sound icon in the lower right corned is xed out, and says that no audio ouput device is installed. When I click that to detect for problems it says:

Hardware changes might not have been detected.

I have a Compaq Presario V5000 (ET826UA#ABA)

System type: X86-based PC
Processor: AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile Technology

Please Help!

Thank You!

Sounds like windows 7 didn't have any included drivers for your onboard sound. You could try letting it search online/windows update for drivers. Best bet though is to go Compaq's website and see if you can get the correct drivers there.

Type device manager in search and see what is shown about drivers. There will be a yellow warning if your driver is out of date.

As the title says, I was wondering if reinstalling windows home premium would work, as I have tried disabling drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers. Checked everything on control panel. So would reinstalling home premium help?
