Impossible situation with sound drivers for Windows 7!

Hello everyone! This is gonna be difficult.

I have a pretty old, probably from 2006 or smth PC. Its very good and I love it. It original OS was XP, but I liked Windows 7 and so I installed that. Everything else was fine expect for audio. I couldn't find a driver that would install/enable both speakers and microphone together. There were many drivers that just enabled speakers, and many more that wouldn't install at all.

I also posted a thread about it where more information can be found. Please read.

However, there was just 1 driver that enabled both microphone and speakers. It was SigmaTel drivers that I had got with the computer when I bought it. So they were pretty old. There was one problem though - it crashed most of the programs that played music. I also posted thread about that as I didn't know what was wrong back then. Well, now I knew it was just those drivers. Please also read this thread.

I tried like 30 different Vista, XP and 7 drivers, none of them worked perfectly. So I decided to took my computer to an IT pro, who said that my sound card and its drivers aren't supported by Windows 7. So they installed XP again and now I'm running on XP. But I would like to upgrade it back to 7.

Well. I'm hoping someone will help me figure out and has some kind of an idea how to get some drivers work. Information about my audio and devices: look at the attachment!

If my audio card is indeed too old and that is the problem, then I have found a new audio card. Help me review it and tell me what do you think? Would that work on my PC and Windows 7?

PS: I used to run on Windows 7 Ultimate RC 7100 version | 32-bit.

Please help! I could use some good news!

    Thank YOU!

Those on the Dell users forum with older PC's that do not have sound drivers for the Integrated Audio or older Soundcards are installing new Windows 7 compatible sound cards. That sounds like what you will need to do.

If you have an "IDT" sound chip (not a SigmaTel) then the IDT drivers should work. IDT is the new name for SigmaTel but with some systems the SigmaTel drivers are needed. Generally, SigmaTel Vista drivers work OK in Windows 7.

You System Specs do not note the motherboard, but many motherboards have chipset drivers and if the chipset drivers were never installed or are corrupted it can affect sound operation. On motherboards with chipset drivers, the chipset drivers define the devices (such as sound).
