So far I've only had to get one driver that didn't come through Windows Update. I much perfer to get the drivers, when needed, from the manufacturers website. Those will be the latest drivers. Other sites usually don't keep up.
Like greysgold said the manufacturer is the best and should always be used when possible. You can also use the windows update catalog Microsoft Update Catalog Third party sites I don't reccomend. most are some kind of sneaware (make you pay). JMO. Fabe

+3 for using the manufactures website. There are programs that find your drivers for you but they do not always work. Also by going and finding the proper updated drivers from the manufacturers you will learn a lot about hardware and drivers in the process over time.
