It isn't your video card that is the problem, it is the lack of a working AGP driver that is the problem. From the specs of you motherboard,

    ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

based on the age and the chipset, there never will be a working motherboard driver. About the only option you have if you want to use Windows 7 is a new computer. You want to keep using you video card, you're going to have to stick with XP.

I'm having the same issue as everyone else. I have tried everything out there that I could find to fix this issue to no avail. I'm running the Sapphire HD 3850 AGP and can't get Windows 7 to install the right driver. I thought I had it once but when I rebooted, the screen was either all black or just the small desktop logo and I couldn't do anything. HELP!!!!!!

CDKrash Your board has a VIA chipset ASRock > Products > 4CoreDual-SATA2 R2.0 Is everything else in device manager looking good ? Drivers all installed just having trouble with the GFX card? If so you may want to try what is posted in post #2 Fabe

    CDKrash, welcome to the forum.

In your case there isn't a Windows 7 AGP driver but there is a Vista driver (you didn't specify 32 or 64 bit so here are links to both),

    32 bit - Drivers - Download

    64 bit - Drivers - Download

that should work OK in Windows 7.

    Hello All,

Thanks for your replys. Yes the GFX was the only thing that was wrong, everything else installed OK. I tried all of your ways and after each time, nothing. But the last time I did the update driver-let me choose-have disk, Selected the CL_ .inf file then selected the first HD 3850 driver. And Vwala!!!! I think we are all good now. I don't know which way was the right one. But hey it works now, that's all that really matters! Thank you all so much, I was about ready to start pulling hair out.
