Any one able to Write or modify mouse driver?

    Hi,
I have an old mouse that must absolutely be used with the migration to XP/7 (From 98). But it is an old a4tech mouse with only the drivers for win 95/98 and the manufacturer has gone out of business or is no longer supporting drivers for this mouse. I have all the files and the button configuration software for it, but I'm not good enough to write or modify the drivers to work in Windows XP or 7. It's propably pretty simple for yall here. Just has 2 scroll wheels that scroll horiz/verti and one thumb button that is programable to delete selected objects. Can some one give me a hand with this? I'm willing to pay.
    Thnx

Any specific reason why this particular mouse must be used?

It has 2 scroll wheels that scroll vertically and horizontally and does it better than any new mouse with tilt wheels. Additionally, it has a thumb button on the side that is crucial to my graphic design use.

Is there an installation program for the drivers? If so, try installing in compatibility mode.

I don't have any model or serial numbers from this mouse. It is one of A4Tech's dualwheel mouse. And the software it uses is "4D ScrollWare". My searches have been fruitless for these drivers or software upgrades.

well with the correct model of your mouse we could probably find a compatible driver for it. or at least a compatible software that will allow you to program your buttons and add other features.

Yep, did this, no go. Also copied all the driver and ini files from the win98 system to their resp directories, but the button config application does not launch.

That's it right there, the solution might be a software program that allows button customization for any mouse. If this exists, it will solve my problem.
