SD card reader not working after upgrading to Win7

So, the title pretty much says it all. I've looked around some, but most other people's problems seemed to be that they could at least see a grayed out version of the card or locate it in the Device Manager, but absolutely nothing shows up for me. It worked fine a couple of days ago (when I was still on Vista), but after upgrading to 7, it no longer detects the SD card at all. Other topics had lots of random driver downloads, but the ones I tried did not seem to work. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for the help, but I'm not sure that it is applicable to me. In the Device Manager I see a Texas Instruments PCI-8x12/7x12/6x12 CardBus Controller under PCMCIA adapters. I'm not sure if that's my media reader or not, but I'm going to try the download he suggests in his post anyways. While I'm doing that, feel free to point out ahead of time why this may or may not work haha. I'll update with any information regarding the attempt.

EDIT: 64-bit, and I'll check in a minute or two and update with another edit.

Texas Instruments PCI-8x12/7x12/6x12 CardBus Controller under PCMCIA adapter is the large slot on the side of the laptop for a larger add on card of various types if you could post the exact model number of your laptop so we know what we're dealing with we will be able to help you much faster

The model is MT6821 I believe, unless I was looking at the wrong area. I'm going to try the reader you linked to and see if it helps.

EDIT: I ran the .exe, but all it did is flash a window that immediately went away (didn't catch what it was) and opened a text file giving me the path of the readme and another informational file. Is that what's supposed to happen? It still doesn't seem to be reading my SD card, but I haven't restarted in a while. Is a restart necessary for a driver like this to take effect?

After restarting, I'm sad to say that that driver did not work.
