Can't find a USB driver, will a USB 3.0 Port Replicator Driver do?

The NGO where I work has an HP 15-G023NE laptop. I searched hp support for the USB driver but there was none, I did find a USB 3.0 Port Replicator Driver though. will it work?

Hello mosh now mate I am assuming you have admin rights on that machine?? because even if you can find that driver (I have just searched and the HP site is just abysmal) without those rights you are probably not going to be allowed to install the driver/s.

Anyway having said that (but this also means that you will need admin rights) I sometimes use this site to look for missing drivers Slimware Utilities - Download SlimDrivers FREE

Now just a few things to give you the heads up when using this site ONLY download the Slim Driver stuff as there are offers of others stuff you do not need and I use this Unchecky - Keeps your checkboxes clear on all my machines to stop those irritating softwares adding stuff that one sometimes misses seeing wanted ie Askbar and Googlebar etc so install that before you try Slim Drivers.

But as I said unless you have admin rights you are going to stuck where you are.

By the by have you tried contacting HP support yet?

Reading this thread, I must admit....I'm confused, because I've been in the PC business since the early 80's and since the introduction of Windows and specifically now Windows 7, USB drivers have been a part of the OS and continue to be.
I have a USB 3.0 add-in card in my own PC and when I installed Windows, it even installed drivers for that card.
So I'm confused how and why any new computer today, would not have its own USB drivers. ???
And, why anyone would have to go looking for such drivers. ???

Did someone, either out of stupidity or malicious mischief, delete the original USB drivers?

    Just Curious

Hmm had sort of crossed my mind Techno but if that had happened then deleting it on what to me seems to be a company machine would need admin rights too??

Frankly I have never had much problems with USB drivers on installs - have far more problems with LAN and WLAN ones which I now save to a stick before I reinstall.

But back to the OP I am wondering if he has noticed that we are posting here because there has been no reply yet.
