    New Catalyst 10.1 Driver

    Apparently ATI has issued new Catalyst drivers. Anyone know when the new drivers will be available from DELL.
    If not, has anyone install these new drivers from ATI.

    Hey there,

    Sorry, dont have a Dell but installed 10.1s early this morning.

    Lets just say these are rubbish! I rolled back to 9.12 hotfix. Performance drops in 3D applications AND STILL no support for crossfire in Eyefinity.

    Yes, it takes time to develop drivers. Yes, its my fault for buying the latest and greatest............BUT, when are the "hail Mary" drivers going to become available?

    Its ALWAYS next month (aka "Cat 10.2 and Cat.3 are going to be BIG")

    Like their advertisment where a monkey installs a graphic card, maybe they use monkeys to write their software.

    PS

    Sorry for the rant, BUT I was supposed to patiently wait for driver fixes for my old 4870x2 quadfire rig that never really appeared for nearly a year. Here we go Here we go Here we go..............

    Sooooo what you are saying is I should just stick to 9.12 for now unless I want to see a performance drop in my 5870?

    ATI Catalyst V.10.1

    No discernable difference on my hardware accept for a 1 point improvement of refresh rate from 59 hz to 60 hz.

    @ A320

    Yes! Apparently 10.1 was just a bug fix, although from what I've experienced/read so far it's failed miserably.

    I would wait for the next supposed "BIG" Cat 10.2 and 10.3s.

    Cheers.

    Glad I never bothered installing these then.

    Catalyst driver team mantra= Will be fixed in the next release

    Catalyst user mantra= Why is this still broken?

    Downloaded from ATI and updated mine minute ago. CCC information centre says Catalyst is 09.12. ATI screwed upload or is it just a bug?

    @smarteyeball

    lol brilliant!

    @shiori

    apparently the driver team "forgot" to update the version number

    rest assured its the correct driver

    in CCC>information center>graphics software your driver package version should read 8.69

    Hope this helps.

    They missed adding this line,

    HKR,, Catalyst_Version,,"10.1"

    to the [ati2mtag_SoftwareDeviceSettings] section in the INF. Probably missed because the CCC hasn't been updated in a release or two. You can add it manually if you and run the install again if you want to see it say 10.1, but it will break the WHQL in doing so (get the red warning about non-WHQL).
