Benq scanner 5000, Canon inkjet printers ...
I bet this has been raked over before but... I had to replace both my laptops (notebooks) recently as they coincidentally failed - I opted for Win 7 64 bit blissfully unaware of the driver issues that lay in wait. Hardly any of my older equipment - printers scanners etc, have a completely satisfactory driver for them - my Canon printers have a patch that gets them to function, but not so they can be used on our network, which is very frustrating.
However things like my Benq 5000 scanner has no Win 7 64 bit driver whatsoever and of course the compatibility mode is irrelevant to drivers as it only works with older software.
Does anyone know of any answer to these issues, other than buying new equipment that guarantees it will work with Win 7 64 bit?
