Right Click '' My Computer '' or '' Computer '' And Then Click '' Manage '' And Then A Window Will Pop-Up , On The Left-Side Click '' Services and Applications '' And Then Double Click '' Services '' Scroll Down , And Then Find '' Windows Installer '' Double Click it , And Then On The '' Start Type '' Make It Into Automatic and Click Apply , Restart Your Computer , :)

    Flavius said:
MS article from @TimStitt post is old and applicable only for older systems not for Vista or Win 7

-In Windows 7 is installed Windows Installer 5.0.You cannot install even 4.5 on Win 7.Unfortunatelly still there is no MS fix for WIndows Installer 5.0.

-In my opinion switchers like msiexec /regserver not working any more in newest systems.

So if you have any problem with this service you can only try to fix manually
You can try this fix to registry https://www.sevenforums.com/attachmen...ue-msiserv.zip
Import above fix to registry and next restart computer.
Many thanks for this. It worked a treat and enabled me to install Office 2010. I had tried most of the other suggestions on various forums but none worked until yours. Thanks again.
