WUSB600N network adapter! new driver released....

WUSB600N network adapter! new driver released.... and it still doesn't work!!

I downloaded the new driver for win7 x64 from the linksys website that was released a couple of weeks ago!

Linksys by Cisco - WUSB600N Support

I pluged in my WUSB600N v2 network adapter. windows tried to find the drivers. It said there was a problem and installing drivers had been unsuccessful. I looked in the device properties and it said the 3.0.1.0 driver was installed and working correctly ( but this is the old driver) so I did and 'update driver' and browsed to the location of the new driver 3.0.10.0 and then It tried to install.

this is the message I got when it failed..

Then I tried looking in Network and Sharing centre to see if there was anything in there that could be changed to make it work but didn't find anything.

Then I tried to restart my comp and it wouldn't restart so I had to do a system restore!!

How do I make this new driver work? what could the problem be?

    thanks,

I've already tried installing in compatibility mode for the previous drivers. The whole reason I am trying to get this wusb600n adapter to work for a second time is because linksys have released new windows 7 x64 drivers and so that I don't have an ethernet cable running all round the house. So I don't see the point of trying compatibility mode again because it didn't work the first time.

    thanks anyway,

So it's not just me then!!!!!

My 2 wireless PC's are now sitting there without any connectivity since going to 7!!

One has the wusb600n adapter and the other has TP-LINK TL-WN851N300

Both worked fine with XP & Vista but with 7 nothing

    Am not happy

The PC will not allow the adaptor to enable, everything is there ....device manager, in network and sharing the PC sees it and tells me it's OK ie all the drivers are up to date but it wont work!!!

You run windows diagnostic and it tells you that the drivers might be at fault..........it ran great with Vista and I put it in an XP pc and again it ran fine it's just **$%in 7!!! and the same for my pci slot adapter

    very very frustrated

I've just had a chat with an advisor from linksys and he said he is going to escalate the problem for me and they will get back to me in two days! So we'll see if they come up with any answers...
