    USB faults

Seems that after a certain period of time, my USB keyboard drivers decide to spaz out and lock my keyboard up out of the blue. disabling and unplugging it, then plugging back in wont work, and so far only a complete restart will save me. I dunno what the hell is wrong with it. This is the second time I've had to reinstall the OS, the first bout of issues was having to reinstall video card drivers with each shut down or restart.

I've had similar issues with a home-built PC and it turns out it was because the mobo wasn't all that great and it suffered from heating issues. Sounds to me like you may be a victim of the same issue - could you post some specs so that I can see what you're working with? Mobo, CPU, memory, Gfx, PSU etc would be good. Also the approximate age of the system would be good to know.

    Thanks!

it's all in my profile, and it's a brand new PC, maybe a month or so old. Cooling is not an issue, it runs fairly cold with what I've got in it. The mobo came recommended from a few friends, and got decent reviews, so again, not worried about that.

Well you say your having trouble with your keyboard yet you only listed it in your specs as USB keyboard. So a little more information on the keyboard would be nice. And if it came wot a driver Cd and what Os the Cd is for. this Will all help in trying to diagnose the problem Thanks. Fabe

Dell L100 USB keyboard. But. It happens with both my PS2 keyboard and the USB one. No driver CD, as 7 seems to hunt down drivers on it's own.

If it were just a USB issue, I imagine that might help more, but it's both a USB and PS2 keyboard issue.

Have you checked in your BIOS for settings that might have to do with your keyboard?

I know this is not a solution, but it may give you a good idea.

It's all set to factory defaults. No wake on keyboard, nothing.
