Graphics and mousepad drivers fail to load on restart

Ok so I recently moved from vista to windows 7 and everything is great except that about 40% of the time when I restart my computer, the mousepad and video card drivers don't load up. The mousepad stops responding and the resolution goes to 800x600. When I look in device manager those two drivers say they failed to initialize and need a restart, I will post the exact error messages soon. Then when I restart everything runs fine. But this consistently happens, I believe it happens everytime I install something new and then restart. I can't figure out how to stop this from happening, anyone know what to do?

Remove all Nvidia drivers using driver sweeper: Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
Then reinstall the Nvidia drivers in safe mode
    NVIDIA DRIVERS 258.96 WHQL

Hello thegalph and Welcome to SevenForums,

A little more info about your computer would help.
Don't put the info in your next post but rather update your System Specs with the additional info.

    WIN | type MSINFO32 | ENTER
    WIN
is the key with the wavy flag.

Go to the ASUS website. Fetch the latest BIOS update (if yours isn't up-to-date) and fetch the latest WIN 7 drivers.

The ASUS install procedure will take care of the out-of-date drivers. You won't need to worry about uninstalling them. Just install the software you download from ASUS.

    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

You'll get a better response if you start a new thread rather than use one that's over a year old.

Also, please delete your e-mail address from your opening comment unless you want your inbox full of spam. :)
