    HPLaserjet 1000

I solved this problem once, but my W7 has just had a MAJOR prob with "Security Tool" which needed a (successful) trip to the shop. Unfortunately, they did not manage to preserve all my data & programs, and I have lost the "quick fix" for my VITAL printer. Please can someone post the method again?

(PS printer is a USB hybrid, and Win 7 won't install automatically, as it says there is a security risk from which I need protecting!!!!)

    "Security Tool Warning
Spyware.IEMonster activity detected. This is spyware that attempts to steal passwords from Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Outlook and other programs. Click here to remove it immediately with SecurityTool."

Hi. Is this the message you are getting.?

Yikes! Make sure you back up your data, here is more information on using Windows Easy Transfer: Windows 7 features - Windows Easy Transfer - Microsoft Windows.

Please share more information about the specific problem with your printer setup.

Tara, HP no longer support my Laserjet 1000. Before the crash, I persuaded Win 7 to install a driver via a method that I can no longer find. The printer is a hybrid, running as USB, via a parallel port connection, which came with the original drivers.

Win 7 installs, but says it needs trouble shooting, but can't find a fix. Printer shows up in Devices & Printers, with an error.

This is a good workhorse printer, and I don't see why I should buy a new machine just because HP won't offer an updated driver. Particularly as I have recentlybought 2 new toner cartridges...
