THANKS SO MUCH!!! The files from Post #8 got my Gateway 855-based laptop working great. I dunno about OpenGL, but for 2-D stuff it's fine. I now get the natvive 1280x800 res for my screen, and that's really what matters.
I went from a 1.0 to a WE 1.9 score with the change in drivers from stock VGA to this. Still a 1.0 for 3D, but that's fine. This is a Celeron-M 1.5 Ghz and it never did 3D.
hi frnds i tried this way but i cant get it .after trying so much i got 100% result.thatis after installing installing Windows 7 u get stander vga drivers then u directly install only[only] this driver [by going through computer managment>displaydrivers>properties>update driver>locate this drivers on hard drive after unziping .]and reboot after installation is completed.
2.drag cmd prompt on to the desktop . start run as adminitrator >type Bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks ON
3.u can check in dxdiag>display for conformation
Thank you very very much. This method works %100. Ive registered just to let all Dell 700m users to know it works.
I have Dell 700m 1.2Gb Memory Windows 7 build 7077
Amazingly enough, it's working!!! Using the old Win2000 drivers from 2003 provided in the previous post. I did have to do some interesting things, like a few safe mode boots, attaching an external screen, etc to get it to stick.
But I'm 1 week of using 7100 on my Dell 700m and it's amazing!!!
I know this is weird, but it's worked twice for my 700m. Attach a monitor to the VGA port and get the drivers to install again and reboot (don't tell Windows to extend to the monitor, just have it connected). That should get you the correct screen resolution.
Either there is something weird about having that connection, or I have a wacky laptop
