    Sony Vaio VGN-CS33G

Thinking about popping windows 7 32bit on this laptop, it has vista at the mo and as we all know vista was..... not the best.

Is any one aware of any potential issues i may come up against?

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums: I would suggest running Windows Upgrade Advisor first. This should give you an idea of any possible issues.Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. Fabe

It is supported on the Sony site with W7 drivers so should be OK :
    VGN-CS33G : Downloads : Support : Sony Asia Pacific

Post back if you have any issues i will find some threads i was working with before that maybe of help. They were having problems with installation order and key functions but nilly all problems were resolved - they didnt have W7 support which made it harder, and yours has so i would say go for it.

Those always seem to be the biggest problem with thoses laptops. I would think the original function download http://www.sony-asia.com/support/dow...duct/vgn-cs33g However their is a thread saying they used the shared library, then restart and and install utilities to get her function keys to work on a differnt model. You can read about it here Sony Vaio drivers for VGN-NW265F Hopefully someone can help you.SF member FZ21Z seems to know a lot about the Vaios possibly you could contact him.Hope you get it sorted out. This combination, and order worked for my FN functions...

    1. Sony Shared Library

    Download link : ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/VAIO/ORI....4.0.05200.ZIP
Run the setup & reboot as required.

    2. Setting utility series

    ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/VAIO/WIN....0.0.08060.ZIP
Run the setup inside the folder.

    3. Vaio Event service

    ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/VAIO/ORI....0.0.08180.ZIP
Run the "setup.exe" in the folder.

    4. Vaio Control center

    ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/VAIO/WIN....0.0.07280.ZIP

Try that and let us know.

You'll need software if it's showing in Devices and printers. What did you use with Vista?

Hi mate, the bad news is i tried your 4 step fix but it still doesnt work, the laptop has a capture button on it along the top (by volume etc) when i press it i expect the camera to come on but it doesnt.

None of the VAIO things seem to be working, confusing the hell out of me. he just used the sony utils when he had vista on it.

in Printers and devices it says USB composite Webcam. but when you click on it is says unavailable.

Thanks for the help really appreciate it.
