    Problem with the display

Hi. I have recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit on my hp dv6910el laptop, and I have a problem.
Windows only recognizes my display as Generic PnP Monitor. Monitor specifications given by Hp are too general: "15.4” WXGA High Definition BrightView Widescreen (1280 x 800)"

Because of this, win7 forces only 4 resolutions available, and only one refresh rate: 59Hz. It of course shows 60Hz refresh rate but it forces the 59Hz one automatically. This affects all my 3d applications deeply, I would love to fix the problem.

My previous Vista operating system automatically recognized the monitor, but win7 doesn't. I would love some ideas in how to solve this problem.

Video card driver is up to date, having the 195.81 version for the 8400M GS video card.

    Hardware Id shown is:

    MONITOR\LGP0000

    Thank you.

That's the problem: I tried everything, all the drivers I could get my hands on vista-based or win7 based ones. For display it won't accept any other driver, it says it's incompatible or out of date. Maybe I just didn't find the appropriate driver for the display yet, that's why I'm here asking for help.
