The reason this happens is because you bought a chinese knock off. I bought one too and I had to install it like walkers post said. It works fine though.
Did you click on "Show all compatible devices"
Xbox 360 PC wireless gaming Receiver
Got a virus last week and did a quick reformat and I discovered that the windows common class driver location was not there. To fix this I went the Microsoft website and downloaded the Xbox 360 Accessories Software 1.2. Once I installed this suite the driver option was then available by manually installing the driver. The accessory software is not an option, you must install it!
I bought a generic xbox 360 wireless receiver for PC and it works perfectly on my vista 32bit system, but will not work with my windows 7 64bit pc.
I manually install the drivers and all the works, but the controllers won't connect to the receiver.
Any ideas what could be wrong and/or what I can do to make them work?
After a reboot, try a different USB port and see if it works then.
