    Hi ramborage,

It would help if you filled out your System Specs a bit more...

Also, range issues are often a hardware issue with the controller or receiver - is the device in good condition?

    Cheers,

Where do you have the receiver attached?

Front of the case or rear?

It could be a 'line of sight issue', or interference from other wireless devices etc

Most essential are your Windows version (XP, Vista, 7, etc.), edition (Home Premium, Professional, etc.), and bit size (x86/32-bit, or x64/64-bit). But please see this post for instructions on retrieving the rest.

    Hi mossflower,

Try the instructions I found here: Wireless Xbox 360 Controller Receiver For Windows Not Detecting/Working

    http://www.dealextreme.com/forums/Forums.dx/Forum.31881~threadid.504450

    Right click on Computer
    Go to Properties
    Click on Device Manager
Right click on the Unidentified Device
    Go to Properties
    Go to the Drive tab
    Click on Update Driver…
Browse my computer for driver software
Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
Windows Common Controller for Window Class
Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows Version: 2.1.0.1349 [8/13/2009]
    Update Driver Warning
    Click Yes
Let me know if that helps at all. Good luck!

    Cheers,

I would check out the causes and solutions in the thread below, even though it is talking about the console and not pc.
Last solution is too contact support and perhaps return the controller

    Code:
