    Big Problem


    I have several problems with windows 7 after i updated my bios
    (i have an ASUS m2n32 SLI delux)
    -First of all, every input & output via devices are slower
    -Offen keyboard keystroke or mouse click are not handled
    -The screen don't display everything correctly, but if i do a screenshot everything is captured as nothing bad happened (so i don't think it's the video card)

    I think it's the plug and play system, or the enumeration one, but i'm not sure... need help, i have windows build 7000

    Updating bios is supposed to fix things, not break them!

    heh

    If you are on x64 system, I recommend you search for 7068 build.
    If you are on x86 system, I recommend you search for 7077 build.

    Clean install if you download either. That's what I'd do in your situation.

    But, as a programmer i can't give up without fix this problem...
    After this i will do a clean install, that's for sure, just not now :P

    so... help to solve this problem will be great =)

    When you flashed the bios, did you do it with Asus Update from within Windows?

    no, i downloaded it into a floppy, and at the windows restart i opened the bios update pannel (alt f2 before load windows)

    General rule with flashing BIOS: If it aint broke, dont fix it!

    What issue were you addressing with your BIOS flash?

    Your best bet is doing a clean install to a newer version that'll be more compatible with your system. I had 7000 for quite a while and when I first installed it I had to run around handling issues relating primarily to performance problems like the ones you're mentioning. In your case, I'd even considering clearing the CMOS and returning to the old BIOS if that was better for you.

    All your drivers updated? NVIDIA & ATI recently came out with new versions of their W7 drivers.

    Download a live 'nix CD (Slax), boot up to it and see if you have the same issues.

    nothing changed... but i realized that sometime my pc work fine...
    and if i use programs which use DirectX everything go clear (i think because the program uses DirectXinput, DirectXsound and DirectX3D instead of the GDI+ and other)

    so, the problem is not on the O.S. itself, and not even on devices...

    now i'm almost sure that it's the enumerator system...
    As many of you know PCI devices, usb ports and graph card are initialized by the bios,
    so... if the bios initialize devices on a different way, windows default servicies have to re-map them.
    I think the problem is that: for each event windows try to find the right device and then it fail because of the new map, but w7 is not so stupid, so it try to look for other devices, that's why i can type something, but every thing go slow and jerky

    But this should only be affected if you made change to the enumeration routines in your BIOS - so, I have to ask - did you?

    no, i just updated my bios... but i'm not sure sure that the enumerator system is menaged by the bios... i think it's windows
