SD Card Reader causes BSOD! Toshiba M15-S405
I've had this Toshiba for quite a while, and it has an SD card reader on the left side above the PCMCIA slots. Here are my observations:
With an SD card inserted prior to powering on the laptop, turn on the laptop. Windows boots, everything loads and the system can be used normally for any length of time. IF the SD card is ejected at any point the system goes BSOD, and reboots. At no point during the use leading up the ejection of the SD card can the contents of the card be read or modified - my laptop doesn't even appear to recognize the device.
This can be and has been reproduced with three different brands of SD cards which have also been proved to be working normally in other laptops. I have already removed and reinstalled the driver, installed a fresh copy of the driver from Toshiba's website, sacrificed an imaginary radish, formatted and reinstalled Windows (just for old times sake), even the almighty google has failed me. I now turn to you - please help me internet, please help me regain the use of my SD card reader that I have lost since I traded Windows XP for Windows 7!
