    HP Printer drivers

I recently upgraded one of my computers to 7 pro. I also have an older computer running XP pro. They belong to the same group.

My situation is this. Last week I wanted to share the printer on my XP pro system with the upgraded 7 system. I went into the printer and devices option on the 7 system and clicked "add a printer", "add a network printer" and pointed to the printer on the XP box. I seleted the printer which is an Epson Action laser 1500.

Dont laugh.... yes it is a 23 year old printer... but guess what it still is chugging away.... How many here can say the same for their printer?

Any way when I tried to install it using those drivers, the win7 box spit it out. I remembered from years back that the Epson would also run on the HP 3si drivers, so I installed another printer on the XP box using the 3si driver, went to the win7 add printer screen, it saw the 3si across the network and WHAM... the printer installed and I was printing. Great.... But here is where the problem starts.

I decided to install a larger IDE (PATA for you newer geeks) drive in the XP box, and so I decided to back up all my files and data and do a clean install. That went well. The XP box is now up and chugging with an extra 320 gig of disk space. I installed the Epson 1500 printer on the system, then I installed another printer using the 3si driver. I went back to the the win7 box and tried to connect to it and install the driver, but this time the win7 box is not seeing the INI file.

I went to HP's support page and tried to get the drivers from there, but I keep getting caught in a loop. Every time I think I will get to a page to download the files, it take me back to the initial "support" page.

Any suggestions how to get the drivers up and running?

    Thanks
