    hp deskjet 3847

I have a hp deskjet 3847 installed on a home computer running windows xp.
I have the printer set as shared for the other computers in the house to use from the network.

My problem is that my wifes new laptop running windows 7 "sees" the printer but can't find the right driver on the network, it's looking for a "INF" file.

I took the printer and plugged it directly to her laptop (with windows 7) and it installed automaticly with no problems and works fine.

I plugged it back into the desk top computer running windows xp and still the same problem.

It has to be something simple, right??

    Any help would be appreciated.

It is possible that the printer is not compatible with the XP computer. Check with the printer manufacturer website to find out. If it is compatible, you will need to get the correct drivers (XP drivers) from the manufacturer.

    Good Luck!
