Hi everyone, I'm new here. I just bought a laptop with Windows 7, but already I'm having trouble connecting some firewire device to it (Presonus Inspire audio interface, for your information). Windows won't actually recognize the device. It knows whether or not it's plugged in, but it doesn't recognize it.
Apparently Windows 7 has trouble dealing with firewire, but there's a fix: go to the Device Manager, find the firewire device and switch the
driver to the one that has "Legacy" at the end of the name. This fix works for pretty much everyone. Great!
Well not for me, because in my list there's only:
1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller
1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (old version)
The one I'm looking for isn't even in this list! How do I go about getting it? Or does anyone know of another fix?
