    No Audio Output Device Installed...again

I know this is probably the onemillionth time this has been posted but I like the personalized service everyone gets so now its my turn.
I just installed windows 7 on my laptop and I am getting the dreaded red x icon and the error message saying there is no audio device, and I cannot for the life of me figure out where to get a driver. After reading some other forums I realized that I also had no clue what I was doing so here is what I found after following some other peoples directions...

    device manager>sound, video...>hd audio devices>properties>details>hardware ids:

    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0882&SUBSYS_1043020D&REV_1001
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0882&SUBSYS_1043020D

Can anybody help me, or am I just doomed to have a mute laptop?
    Cheers!

    What is the actual device listed under...device manager>sound, video...>hd audio devices> ?

That's what your going to have to find a driver for, is the sound device. I assume your using onboard sound, and not a sound card?

Why guess at it? I'm waiting for the OP to come back. If the OP wants this issue to be resolved, posting wouldn't be a bad idea....LOL

cavedude, bill2 and mak777. Ya'll need to go to your User CP and then edit system specs and fill them out. This will finish the signing up to this site and will help others help you in the future. Thanks guys. Fabe
