    Epson Perfection 1260 Scanner

I have downloaded the drivers for this scanner but only the 32 bit version is available from Epson. Can I make this work with Win 7 64bit?

No, it wont. You would have to find a 64 bit driver. What did windows do when you plugged in the scanner? Did it search and find software or did it fail?

Unfortunately, it will not work correctly. Devices with drivers designed for only the 32-bit version of Windows will not work on computers running a 64-bit version of Windows. Since you are trying to install a scanner with 32-bit drivers, it won't work correctly on a 64-bit version of Windows. Try checking the Windows Compatibility Center to see if there is a 64-bit driver available? If you can find 64-bit drivers for Vista on the Epson website, give them a try :)

    Cheers,

    Hi Ben
Thanks for the response. I could only find a 32 bit driver for Windows 7 for this scanner and Windows reported the "Windows cannot find a driver for this hardware" message so it is as I thought, a new scanner is on the horizon. No great problem as I have an XP machine still in commission and the scanner is installed on that. Will do for now.
    Thanks again

    Hi,

I have a similar scanner, an Epson Perfection 1200 Photo, but I can't find a drive.

Have you any ideas if a Win7 32bit driver might be available for the 1200?

Hi 2Spring and welcome to the Forum. Yours being a 1200 model and not the 1260 is an earlier model, I think. I cannot find a driver after the XP Operating system, Sorry. I think like me a new scanner is called for. How old is yours?

    Hi. Thanks for your welcome.

It's old. I bought it new but it could be about 8 years old. Embarrasing, I know but I can't remember exactly. The thing is, it is has always worked very well and is fairly fast. It just seems such a waste of money (not to mention carbon, etc) to get rid of it. I am also having hassle finding a driver for my HP Deskjet 6122 printer with duplex attachement.

This is what HP say about your printer:
At this time, a full feature Windows 7 driver solution is not available for your product.
However, a compatible print driver solution for your product is included with the Windows 7 operating system. There is no need to download any additional software.
Follow the steps in this document to identify the print driver that is compatible with the product, install the driver, and then configure it in Windows 7. When this driver is installed, you can use the basic functions of the product.
Go to the link below and there is a compatible driver that will give you the basic functions of your printer: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...&product=83027
    Hope this helps.
