Brother HL-1030 printer driver for Windows 7

    Hi,

Please guide me how I can get a driver for my brother printer HL -1030 for Windows 7. I called Brother office in Canada and they say this printer is not compatible with Windows 7. Is there any other printer driver I can download and get my printer working.

    Thanks in advance.

You should be able to use the XP drivers and install them in compatibilty mode.

    Here's a link to the XP Home/Pro 32-Bit Drivers
Brother Solutions Center: HL-1030: Downloads: Others

To run the installer in compatibility mode:

Right Click Installer > Properties > Compatibility > Select the OS you want. (In this case, XP)

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply.

However, I could not make it work. Am I missing some thing as it says it is not compatible, even though I changed the version to XP in compatibility mode.

Can I find some detailed instructions as to how to go about it.

    Thanks in advance

Yes. I did run as an administrator as this is my home PC and has only one user, admin.

    Still no luck.

when you right click on the setup.exe file>properties> compatibility> tick run as xp> tick run as admin >apply and ok> exit , right click again on the setup file and select run as administrator , did you do it that way :)

Yes. But it still did not work. I chose Win xP SERVICE PACK 3 and tick the run as administrator, apply and save and then unzipped the file again, rewrite all the files and tried but of no use. May be I am missing some critical step here.

    Thanks for your support.

The downloaded file was a zip file which had to be unzipped (extracted) in order to use it. However, in the meantime, I went on to windows update and downloaded driver for printer number HL -1250 and my printer HL-1030 seems to be working now using the driver of HL-1250.

Thanks once again for all your time and efforts.
