Gateway 400SD4 to use updated drivers in Windows 7?

Hello everyone,

I have just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit on my old Gateway 400SD4, but there are problems with updating the drivers for it? Is there anything that I can do? I tried to download specific drivers, and I tried to install them under Windows XP SP 3 and 2 Compatibility Modes, but it still says that they are "not valid as a win-32 application." Is there anything that I can do to update the drivers? I have no sound, my video driver won't update so that I can move away from the Standard VGA Driver, and I have other drivers which have only become base and standard. I am not sure what to do.

Thank you very much, everyone. I would be entirely grateful for your input.

God bless,

Vince Lupe

EDIT: I am able to run one so far in compat with administrator mode, but I haven't tried the others yet. What should I do when it comes to using Device Manager to update those drivers?

in device manager do you have any triangles with exclamation marks against any devices? ,if so right click on them and click on "update driver" see if that helps

Regardless, I could not tell you how much I appreciate your help So far, things are working well. I think I can manage with the base updates that are posted on the Gateway site. I'll let you know if I could use your advice again Thank you, very much
