    Need Drivers For Acer Aspire 5050


    Thanks for taking the time to read this! first off i need drivers for an acer aspire 5050-3371 laptop in general i need a sound driver and that seems to be it. the driver on the acer site say's that it is only made for vista or lower so what can i do??

    Vista drivers, typically, work fine in Win7.

    vista drivers are 100% compatable with 7.use them..

    Not 100%, but close. ATI TV tuners as an example.

    OK


    But every time i go to use the realtek audio drivers for vista it says "only windows 2000,XP, 2003 and Vista is supported in this driver package" ??????

    Extract the driver to a folder. Install through Device Manager.

    just went to realtek site and got drivers but still no sound how do i test to make sure it is a driver problem and not a hardware one? (this a laptop i got off of a guy so i know nothing about it)

    Does Device Manager show the device as properly installed? Does the Volume icon show a playback device? Are all the volume controls adjusted, esp the volume wheel/slider on the laptop?

    seems as every things is as you have mentioned although when i hit the mute button the internal speakers make a little pop sound. i have also tried using head phone but to no avail. thank a lot for your help

    also all it has under device manager is realtek high def audio device nothing else. is this ok as i have seen cases where there are 5 different things under the sound tab
