Intuos3 Graphics Tablet, Lag in photoshop

Trying to get my wacom tablet, (model PTZ-431W) to work in Windows 7 has been confusing. While the tablet works with out installing a driver, there is no pen sensitivity. So, I tried to install the disk that came with the tablet. It worked, pen sensitivity had returned, just with one problem.
    Lag.
Upon occasion, seemingly at random the pen will go into lag and after a second or two, will jerk over to another spot and make a long straight line. Not the best thing. How fast I use the tablet, which direction, none seem to stop this random lag that occurs.
So, I uninstalled the program, and tried to install the latest driver on wacom's website.
Same problem. The tablet is fully working, as on my desktop computer it works fine. Both Photoshop CS on my desktop and on my tablet are fine. I don't know what could be causing this problem and I am aware that I'm not the brightest.

    Can anyone help?

Do you have the 11.0.1 update for Photoshop CS4?

Apparently Photoshop specifically is having issues with the tablet and 11.0.1 fixes that problem along with many others.

It's actually CS1. Not CS4. Sorry for not saying sooner.

Well you can take a look at this link:

Adobe - Photoshop : For Windows

and see if there are any patches for you [I just pulled it from a bookmark, haven't looked at it]. If not, I don't think there's anything you can do

It isn't because of Photoshop, you will notice the lag anywhere when using the tablet, no where which program you are using... It has something to do with the tablet-pc configuations on windows 7... But I just cannot find that option which does that...

    Don't anyone have any ideas?

The only settings I know of are located at:

START > CONTROL PANEL > TABLET PC SETTINGS.

If you don't have that control panel option, I'd investigate any software settings the Intuos has. The above control panel item is typically only available on tablet-PCs/touchscreen-native-PCs.
