    I'm having the SAME problem!!

    card: HT Omega Claro+
    OS: Windows 7 x64 Ultimate (build 7100)
Drivers: Vista 32/64 (only thing available, had to manually install this)

Of course I can get some type of sound out of my speakers (but it isn't 5.1). Not to mention the bigger problem of the system tray icon freezing up the entire computer to a grinding halt (requiring a hard boot) if I just click the darn thing. So, there the icon sits... useless... deadly... and just taunting me. No way to open up the control panel and no way to get rid of it (so it stops looking at me with that evil grin). I paid $200 for this card, I'm seriously going to cry if I can't use it... what a waste... Dang HT Omega, post Win7 drivers on your website like most vendors... please! You're killing us here... We pay you enough, its not like its a budget card or anything... SHOW US THE DRIVERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Emailed omega a few months back and then call yesterday same response

"Currently we have no official driver for Windows7 yet.
Cmedia engineer confirmed Windows7 is similar of vista but it uses different
    platform.
Therefore, control panel program doesn't work properly.
Cmedia engineers are working on new driver for W7.

We will post new driver when we receive it.
    Please wait until Cmedia updating."

I have the same problem with my Striker. But, if you wait long enough (about 2-3 minutes), the Sound Card Panel will eventually pop up and you can edit the settings.

Definitely a bug, but at least it works after a point. :-/

Most likely you guys all have skype in your system. This is the problem of skype + Windows 7 + HT omega driver. Looks like there is a bug in Skype's sound effects codes (not the microphone/speakers).

Try disconnect the internet and dont let skype sign on. If your system is NOT freezing this time, then you can solve the problem this way:

    1. Disconnect your internet so that skype wont sign in.
    2. Open windows device manager and disable (not uninstall, just disable it) the HT Omega sound card
    3. Connect your internet
    4. Sign on your skype as usual.
    5. Now go to skype --> tools --> options
    6. Go to sound effects page (NOT the microphone/speaker page) and MUTE all soundeffects (such as "sign on", "sign off"), make sure you mute all of them.
    7. Enable your HT Omega
    8. Now your skype should work. Microphone and speakers should work well in calls and rings. But you wont have the sound effects when sign-in or someone sending fill and such.
