3 mobile broadband dongle works then stops

    Hi all
Just wondering if anyone can help.
What i have is one of them 3 mobile bb dongles. Now, if i install the software then i can get it to work and get on the internet. But if i disconnect and remove the dongle from my machine, once i plug it in again it wont work lol.
I have to remove the software and reinstall. Could anyone shed any light on this for me? My dongle is a ZTE make. Upon first install of software i had to connect my netbook to the wireless in my house so update could find the right drivers for it

    Thanks for any help

I found the same thing. It does work though, but not with the 3connect software. If you click the connections icon in the taskbar you should see a connection called 1.3G you can connect it manually buy clicking it and selecting connect. You cant send texts though with the 3connect software.

You may have to manually install the drivers in the device manager first, it took me a few goes but it did work. I used the vista driver.

    Same Problem ...

Hy,Are u using an usb dongle? I have the same problems. My dongle has the drivers on it, connects itself as an cdrom. The second time I connect it, it wants to autostart - but Win7RC prevents it. The autostart is to start a program which then switches the dongle to a second mode in which it switches from cdrom to umts. If I go under "printes and devices" and then klick on the dongle and then klick on autostart, it works.Greetings

    solved

    Hi!

Brilliant, I have been registered on win7forums and already solved two major problems I've been having.

I have a T-mobile(uk) USB dongle. When I plug it in for the first time, it works fine, the tmobile software detects it and can connect, no problem.

If i unplug it, then plug it back in, the tmobile software no longer detects it, so I cant connect!

My workaround was to restart the computer each time I wanted to use the USB dongle, which was a pain in the donkey-synonym.

I tried the autorun, at first it didn't seem to do anything, so I went 'Devices and Printers', right clicked HUAWAIE modem >'Dial T-mobile' and it worked fine.

I then unplugged, plugged it back into a diff USB port, it ran the autorun automatically and I was able to connect without a problem. It didn't do that before!

    Problem solved, thanks guys!

    My solution

I used usb 3 dongle and had the same problem. But after a while I found a solution:
    1. install 3 software from 3 dongle (to C:\program files\3)
    2. C:\Program Files\3\3Connect\Modems
    3. Install this driver (ZTE_MF6X6_USB_MODEM_1.2050.0.6.exe)
    4. During installation of this driver, it will ask you to insert a PC card device when you gonna click "Finish" button.
    5. Now you need to kill this process:
    - Go to Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del or right click on task bar>>start task manager)
-Find this process, right click on it-->Go To Process-->Right Click on it-->End Process.
    6. Unplug device (usb dongle)
    7. Plug it in back.
    8. It will automatically find necessary drivers.
That's it , now you can plag it in and unplug it as many times as you want! :)

    Please help me =(

My operating system is Windows 7.

I have got 3 mobile broadband since 3 days now but with no success....

I installed everything correctly and the modem shows green light which means I am connected to the 3g and there should be good signal/ coverage....however, when I go to my 3Connect, the button is greyed out, I cannot press connect to a network and it says my sim cannot be detected.

In my network and sharing centre, I can see no 3 connection so I decided to set up a dial up connection myself, I dnt know what pass or username to give it so I simply entered n tried to dial my 3 mobile number but nothing happens. This is driving me insane...I need to get it to work, please help me

    W7/...3 Dongle issue

The problem is actuallywith the US version of Firefox.
Here is the European version, however the problems may still occur:
    http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/

I have just put my old hard drive back in with vista on it to see if it the problem was related to operating systems.

Change windows explorer as your deafault browser.

I Just reinstalles Windows 7 on another partition and formated the old installation.
I AM NOW USING W7 WITH WINDOWS EXPLORER AND 3 MOBILE DONGLE WITH NO PROBLEMS.
