Driver problem Intel X4500MHD

So I hooked up an external monitor to my laptop and after playing a movie graphical glitches on the windows appeared. I know this is probably a problem with Intel's drivers for Windows 7, but does anyone else have this problem?

Also does anyone know how to have the external monitor on when the laptop is closed?

I have the same problem. I have Dell 1545 with intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator x4500MHD .
I upgraded the OS from Vista to Windows 7. I got the Windows 7 driver from Dell. The external monitor (View Sonic VA2232wm) is hooked and has horizontal flickers. Please let me know how I can fix it.
